Machiview
A local-info app that surfaces the everyday texture of a neighborhood — the layer that tourist guides and real-estate listings tend to miss.
Moving, travel, a weekend trip — when you weigh a place, you usually want to know its daily rhythm, not its top sights. Machiview collects information at that grain and lays it out plainly.
Why I built it
Google Maps shows pins; real-estate listings show square meters. What you actually need is "the station at 8 a.m. on a Tuesday," "how stroller-friendly the streets are," "what the place feels like at night."
What I cared about
- Place official information and lived experience side by side, not stacked by hierarchy
- Photos plus short notes — the texture of a town comes across faster than long copy
- Keep the browsing calm and ad-light
What is next
I am leaning into user contributions to fill regional gaps, while figuring out how to keep trust intact when the contributor mix grows.
